Asthma

Learning outcomes:

  • • Understand the physiology and aetiology of asthma
  • • Be able to accurately assess for common signs and symptoms of asthma
  • • Understand the pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments of asthma  
  • • Appreciate the role of the physiotherapist in asthma management including the diagnosis and treatment of dysfunctional breathing patterns

 

Bronchiectasis

Learning outcomes:

  • • Understand the physiology and aetiology of bronchiectasis
  • • Be able to accurately assess for common signs and symptoms of bronchiectasis
  • • Understand the range of treatments available in bronchiectasis
  • • Be able to implement evidence based airway clearance regimes to bronchiectatic patients
